Project Overview
The project brief required a design and development of an events application for the Greater Dublin Area.
My Contributions
User Research, Wireframing, Low-High Fi Prototyping, Testing
Problem Statement
The project brief was to design an application for an event ticketing application for the Greater Dublin Area
User Research
To better understand user needs and pain points of using an event ticketing application , I conducted user surveys. The primary aim of this was to gain insights where user needs were failing to met and improvements could be made.
Competitor Research
When conducting heurstic evaluation of existing event applications, Ticketmaster and Meetup had the same proposition in regards to branding and UI.  It was found to be difficult to navigate and no consistency in the design of the applications themselves. In comparison to Eventbrite, consistency of standards and UI Design was much more improved for the user.
Persona
With a deeper better understanding of user needs and state of competitor applications, I created a user persona gathered with the insights from the survey and competitor analysis.
User Flow
To guide the user journey through the application, I created a user flow of a user finding events, booking a ticket and sharing with friends.
Sketch
I created a basic sketch of the application based on the use flow. This allowed to gain a better understanding of the potential layout and UI for the application.
Wireframes
Once the basic sketch was completed and designed, I created wireframes in Figma to better visualise the layout for the application
Hi Fi Prototype
With the wire frames completed, I began designing the high fidelity protoypes with the whole ux process in mind.
Testing
User testing revealed challenges with navigation, particularly between screens in the music genre and on the view artists page. It became clear that improvements were needed to facilitate easier artist discovery and selection. Additionally, users were unclear about the steps required to share an event they had recently attended with another user.
Reflection and Conclusion
This project proposal and process has further developed my skills in creating user centered acessible applications. I have learned the importance of proper user research and user testing for creating empathy focused iterative designs. Due to this, I would aim to refine my user research and testing methods further to effectively optimize the design and development cycles.
